Note #2: Don't try to install Mountain Lion, this guy is not compatible with the latests iOS SDK, so its pointless. No worries, give it a few seconds, shut down osx from Virtual Box and Start again.
Note: Everytime you need to restart OSX you will get a blank screen when rebooting. This is important since Apple is not longer authorizing 7.x apps. After this, you will be able to install the latest xCode that includes the latests SDK. Go to the App Store in your OSX, and look for updates, you will see a GENERAL update that fixes compatibility issues with Mavericks. Needless to say, I dont need to run Android on the mac, I can do that in the windows machine and natively.Ģ) The latests xCode with iOS 8 SDK doesn't work out of the box. I resolved it restarting the VM and installer and selecting only Xamarin Studio, Xamarin iOS and Xamarin OSX. Yosemite is not compatible yet, but no worries, you don't need it for developing iOS 8.x apps.Ī few issues came in the way but I guess I can live with that:ġ) The xamarin installation crashed when installing Android components. The installation was easy, and I dedicated only 3GB of memory to the VM. So, I did a clean Windows 7 64bit install on the mac and then installed virtual box and created the VM for osx, looks like its the only option since its a "cracked" like OSX.

I did try installing the mac OSX on VirtualBox while in Windows Bootcamp (so I could use Visual Studio natively), but I couldn't get it to work. I am happy for the mac to not run well and give all the juice to the VM because when Im developing on Visual Studio, I only need the mac to build the iOS and run up the IPhone emulator. running in a VM) ?ģ) Are there any settings on the mac that can be used to boost the VM ?
